Eugen Doga was and will remain a worthy model of dedication and devotion through the art of creation and an image of the nation avenged and raised from its knees. This is one of the messages transmitted today, on the day of the composer's funeral, by his friend, the writer Ion Hadârcă.
"Words are poor to convey our feelings at the moment of separation. It is difficult to talk about the soul of a great master, who identified his soul as much as the nation. What is life, we ask ourselves? And every time I ask myself this, the shocking image from the film by Master Loteanu, set to the music of Doga, the old fiddler, played by the magnificent Serghei Lunchevici, appears before my eyes, who picks up a handful of dirt and passes it through his fingers in the wind, saying: This is life! Master Doga demonstrated more than this message," declared Ion Hadârcă.
The writer also spoke about the dramas the late composer went through before becoming, through work, a value to the nation.
"Master Eugen Doga, indeed, is a model and remains a model for all of us of dedication, dedication through work and through the art of creation until the foundation of this transient being is shaken. It is shocking to learn about the drama of a barefoot child from the other bank of the Dniester, set out to face the vicissitudes of fate, in the auditoriums of the conservatory, gritting his teeth to resist the mockery of arrogant foreign speakers. Through work to dominate them, to surpass them. This marginal Transnistrian, in a white, impeccable suit, triumphing with a modest smile on the great stages of the world, is the image of our nation, avenged, raised from its knees, through the music of master Eugen Doga. With an angel's wing, with a genius's feather, the master wrote his work on the parchment of history. Our masterly departures, fly smoothly into the garden of Heaven. Forgive us!", Ion also declared The crowd at the mourning rally.
